Washing and care

for your hides and skins

Lambskins and hides are natural products – and therefore need special care and attention.

The good news is that due to their self-cleaning properties, our products are very easy to care for.

Naturally self-cleaning

They are hygienic and even have an antibacterial effect, making frequent washing unnecessary.

Nevertheless, if you do need to remove stains, you can find important information on washing and caring for your lambskin here.

How can I wash my bullhide / cowhide?

As a general rule don’t wash too often – natural hides are self-cleaning!

A high-quality cowhide retains its beauty for years, even without cleaning products. In combination with fresh, oxygen-rich air (i.e. frequent airing outdoors), bullhides clean themselves. They are hygienic and even have an antibacterial effect.

Therefore, refrain from excessive cleaning with chemical cleaning agents. If you want to remove stains or coarse dirt from your bullhide, use a sponge with a bit of warm water and neutral soap. Do not use too much water!
